Problem:

Xfactor sought a Senior Backend Engineer on a contract basis to assume comprehensive backend responsibilities. This encompassed enhancing app performance, planning and building the backend for new features and products, ensuring security, bug fixes, PR reviews, collaborating with frontend and QA engineers, and implementing observability.

Solution:

Approach & Achievements:

• Performance Enhancement: Boosted the performance of existing endpoints by 70% by refining legacy code.
• API Development: Crafted a public-facing RESTful API using ValueCloud, facilitating customers to create their own smart web calculators. This initiative surged website traffic and expanded email lists.
• UI Collaboration: Partnered with the UI team to streamline the business case creation process, leading to a 30% uptick in user adoption.
• Sales Insights: Engineered a dashboard for sales leaders, offering insights into platform usage by sales representatives.
• Product Launch: Conceived, developed, and introduced the market’s sole complete value realization product for CSM from the ground up.
• Team Collaboration: Engaged closely with product managers and the engineering manager to align API endpoints and database design with business objectives. Collaborated with the QA team to ensure rigorous testing and quality standards adherence. Worked alongside front-end engineers, conducted PR reviews, onboarded new engineers to the platform, and strategized with the engineering manager for new feature and product rollouts.
